$5000 - $15000 Homebuyer Assistance

Homebuyers in Georgia who qualify can purchase a home with as little as $1000 out of pocket cost. To promote home ownership two programs assist families in realizing their dream of owning a home. One program is the Georgia Dream, eligible buyers' can receive up to $15,000 towards their down payment and closing cost. The funds available for the $15,000 are limited therefore loans are first qualified, first approved until funds run out. Another Georgia Dream program offers affordable mortgage financing and down payment assistance of up to $7500 for the first time home-buyer and buyers who have not owned a home in the past 3 years.

A second program is United State Department of Agriculture (USDA). This program targets specific areas within the Atlanta Metro that are under developed. Within these target areas, you do not have to be a first-time home-buyer. Eligible buyer’s who meet the credit and income qualifications will also be required to complete a home-buyer-counseling workshop.

To summarize, Georgia promotes home ownership by offering programs to help families to make home ownership a reality.
